Job Description

We are looking for an Associate Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining and enhancing our Azure environments and applications. You will have the opportunity to directly engage in cloud infrastructure support, contribute to engineering tasks on smaller projects, and collaborate with experienced engineers on larger, impactful initiatives.     What you'll be doing:

    • Performing technical build activities under limited guidance on smaller projects, including Azure and server configuration (e.g. Windows, Linux, NGINX, Apache)
    • Supporting technical build activities on larger projects including Azure and workload configuration as directed by senior engineers
    • Developing and maintaining knowledge of the cloud network and wider group network to ensure all required dependencies and access requirements can be met
    • Developing and maintaining knowledge of security controls and ensuring they inform our implementation and configuration practices, and call out areas of non-conformance when identified
    • Drafting Low-Level Cloud Design documents for small projects
    • Maintaining IT application and infrastructure technical documentation

    Qualifications

    Who we're looking for:

    • Direct hands-on technical knowledge of at least one of the major public cloud providers such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform
    • Proven background in System Administration fundamentals including networking, Windows and Linux configuration, and web server stacks
    • Experience with networking and web standards such as DNS, HTTP, web security mechanisms, proxies, firewalls & application delivery controllers
    • Awareness of modern DevOps methodologies familiarity with continuous build and integration tools and IaC/CaC technologies (e.g. Git, Azure DevOps, Ansible, Terraform)
    • Some Azure certifications desirable
